1. Designation of carbon structural steel and low alloy high strength structure
The above steels are generally divided into general steel and special steel. The method of brand designation is composed of four parts, namely, the Chinese pinyin letter of yield point or yield strength of steel, the value of yield point or yield strength, the quality grade of steel, and the degree of deoxidization of steel.
 
① the letter "Q" representing yield point is adopted for general structural steel. Yield point value (unit: MPa), quality grade (a, B, C, D, e) and deoxidation method (F, B, Z, TZ) specified in Table 1, etc. are symbols, which constitute the brand number in sequence. For example: carbon structural steel brand is q235af, q235bz; low alloy high strength structural steel brand is Q345C, Q345D.

Q235bz refers to killed carbon structural steel with yield point value ≥ 235mpa and quality grade B.
Q235 and Q345 are the most typical grades of engineering steel with the largest production and use and the most widely used. These two brands are available almost all over the world.
In the brand composition of carbon structural steel, the killed steel symbol "Z" and the special killed steel symbol "TZ" can be omitted. For example, for Q235 steel with quality grade of C and D respectively, the brand indication shall be q235cz and q235dtz, but Q235C and q235d can be omitted.
There are killed steel and special killed steel in low alloy high strength structural steel, but the symbol of deoxidization method is not added at the end of the brand.
 
② the special structural steel is generally represented by the symbol "Q" representing the steel yield point, the yield point value and the symbol representing the product use specified in Table 1. For example, the steel brand of pressure vessel is represented by "Q345R"; the brand of weathering steel is represented by q340nh; the brand of q295hp welded gas cylinder; the brand of q390g boiler; and the brand of q420q bridge.
 
③ according to the needs, the brand of general low-alloy high-strength structural steel can also be represented by two Arabic numerals (indicating the average carbon content, in 10000) and chemical element symbols in sequence; the brand of special low-alloy high-strength structural steel can also be represented by two Arabic numerals (indicating the average carbon content, in 10000) and chemical element symbols, as well as some regulations Symbol representing the purpose of the product, expressed in order.
 
 
2. Designation of high quality carbon structural steel and high quality carbon spring steel
High quality carbon structural steel adopts two Arabic numerals (the average carbon content in tens of thousands) or Arabic numerals and element symbols to form the brand.
① for boiling steel and semi killed steel, the symbols "F" and "B" shall be added at the tail of the brand. For example, for rimming steel with an average carbon content of 0.08%, its grade is "08F"; for semi killed steel with an average carbon content of 0.10%, its grade is "10B".

② killed steel (s, P ≤ 0.035% respectively) is generally not marked. For example, for killed steel with an average carbon content of 0.45%, its grade is expressed as "45".

③ for high-quality carbon structural steel with high manganese content, the Arabic numerals indicating the average carbon content shall be followed by manganese symbols. For example, for steel with an average carbon content of 0.50% and a manganese content of 0.70% - 1.00%, its grade is expressed as "50Mn".

④ high quality carbon structural steel (s, P ≤ 0.030%, respectively), with the symbol "a" after the trademark. For example, the grade of high-quality carbon structural steel with an average carbon content of 0.45% is indicated as "45A".

⑤ special grade high-quality carbon structural steel (s ≤ 0.020%, P ≤ 0.025%), with the symbol "e" after the brand number. For example, the grade of super quality carbon structural steel with an average carbon content of 0.45% is indicated as "45e". The designation of high-quality carbon spring steel is the same as that of high-quality carbon structural steel (65, 70, 85, 65Mn steels exist in GB / t1222 and GB / t699 respectively).
 
 
 
3. Designation of alloy structural steel and alloy spring steel
① the brand of alloy structural steel is indicated by Arabic numerals and standard chemical element symbols.
Use two Arabic numerals to express the average carbon content (in tens of thousands), and put it on the head of the brand.
The expression method of alloy element content is as follows: when the average content is less than 1.50%, only the element is indicated in the brand number, and generally the content is not indicated; the average alloy content is 1.50% - 2.49%, 2.50% - 3.49%, 3.50% - 4.49%, 4.50% - 5.49% After the alloy element, write 2, 3, 4, 5.
For example, when the average content of carbon, chromium, manganese and silicon is 0.30%, 0.95%, 0.85% and 1.05% respectively, when the content of S and P is less than or equal to 0.035% respectively, the grade is expressed as "30CrMnSi".
High quality alloy structural steel (s, P content ≤ 0.025%, respectively) is indicated by the symbol "a" at the end of the brand. For example: "30CrMnSiA".
Special grade high-quality alloy structural steel (s ≤ 0.015%, P ≤ 0.025%), with the symbol "e" added at the tail of the brand, for example: "30crm nsie".
The special alloy structural steel brand shall be added with the symbol representing the product use specified in Table 1 at the head (or tail) of the brand. For example, 30CrMnSi steel for riveting screw, with the steel grade expressed as ml30crmnsi.
 
② the expression method of alloy spring steel brand is the same as that of alloy structural steel.
For example, for spring steel with an average content of 0.60%, 1.75% and 0.75% of carbon, silicon and manganese respectively, its grade is expressed as "60Si2Mn". For high-quality spring steel, the symbol "a" is added at the end of the designation, and the designation is "60Si2MnA".
 
 
 
4. Indication method of free cutting steel brand
Free cutting steel is represented by standard chemical element symbols, specified symbols and Arabic numerals. The Arabic figures represent the average carbon content (in parts per 10000).
① for sulfur free cutting steel and sulfur and phosphorus free cutting steel, free cutting element symbols are not added after the symbols "Y" and Arabic numerals. For example, for free cutting steel with an average carbon content of 0.15%, its grade is expressed as "Y15".
② for free cutting steel with high manganese content, the symbol "Y" and Arabic numerals are followed by the symbol of manganese element. For example, for free cutting steel with an average carbon content of 0.40% and manganese content of 1.20% - 1.55%, its grade is expressed as "y40mn".
③ for free cutting steel containing free cutting elements such as calcium and lead, the symbols "Y" and Arabic numerals shall be followed by the symbols of free cutting elements. For example: "y15pb", "y45ca".
 
 
 
5. Indication method of non quenched and tempered mechanical structural steel brand
For non quenched and tempered mechanical structural steel, the symbols "YF" and "F" are added to the head of the brand respectively to indicate free cutting non quenched and tempered mechanical structural steel and non quenched and tempered mechanical structural steel for hot forging. Other contents of the brand representation method are the same as that of alloy structural steel. For example: "yf35v", "f45v".
 
 
 
6. Indication method of tool steel brand
Tool steel is divided into carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel and high-speed tool steel.
① carbon tool steel is represented by standard chemical element symbols, specified symbols and Arabic numerals. The Arabic figures represent the average carbon content (in thousandths).
A. for common manganese content carbon tool steel, Arabic numerals shall be used after the tool steel symbol "t". For example, for carbon tool steel with an average carbon content of 0.80%, its grade is expressed as "T8".
B. for carbon tool steel with high manganese content, manganese element symbol shall be added after tool steel symbol "t" and Arabic number. For example: "t8mn".
C. high quality carbon tool steel, add "a" at the end of the brand. For example: "t8mna".

② alloy tool steel and high-speed tool steel
Alloy tool steel and high-speed tool steel are represented in the same way as alloy structural steel. The alloy element symbols and Arabic numerals specified in the standard are used, but the average carbon content is generally not indicated. For example, for the alloy tool steel with average carbon content of 1.60%, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium content of 11.75%, 0.50% and 0.22%, its brand is Cr12MoV; the average carbon content is 0.85%, and the contents of tungsten, molybdenum, chromium and vanadium are 6.00%, 5.00%, 4.00% and 2.00% respectively For high speed tool steel, its brand is expressed as "W6Mo5Cr4V2".

If the average carbon content is less than 1.00%, one Arabic numeral can be used to express the carbon content (in thousands). For example: the alloy tool steel with an average carbon content of 0.80%, manganese content of 0.95% and silicon content of 0.45% has a brand name of "8mnsi".

For low chromium (average chromium content < 1.00%) alloy tool steel, add the number "0" before the chromium content (in thousands). For example, for alloy tool steel with an average chromium content of 0.60%, its grade is expressed as "cr06".
 
 
 
7. Representation method of plastic mold steel brand

In addition to adding the symbol "SM" to the head of the plastic die steel brand, other representation methods are the same as those of high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy tool steel brand. For example, for carbon plastic die steel with an average carbon content of 0.45%, its brand is indicated as "sm45"; for alloy plastic die steel with an average carbon content of 0.34%, chromium content of 1.70% and molybdenum content of 0.42%, its brand is indicated as "sm3cr2mo".
 
 
 
8. Indication method of bearing steel brand
Bearing steel is divided into four categories: high carbon chromium bearing steel, carburized bearing steel, high carbon chromium stainless bearing steel and high temperature bearing steel.
① for high carbon chromium bearing steel, mark "g" at the head of the brand, but do not indicate the carbon content. Chromium content is expressed in thousands, and other alloy elements are expressed in terms of alloy content of alloy structural steel. For example, for bearing steel with an average chromium content of 1.50%, its grade is expressed as "GCr15".
 

②  for carburized bearing steel, the designation of alloy structural steel shall be used, and the symbol "g" shall be added at the head of the designation. For example: "G20 CrNiMo". High quality carburized bearing steel, add "a" at the end of the brand. For example: "G20 crnimoa".

③ high carbon chromium stainless bearing steel and high temperature bearing steel shall be represented by the brand of stainless steel and heat-resistant steel, and the sign "g" shall not be added to the head of the brand. For example: high carbon chromium stainless bearing steel "9Cr18" and high temperature bearing steel "10cr14mo".
 
 
 
9. Designation of stainless steel and heat-resistant steel
The grades of stainless steel and heat-resistant steel are indicated by alloy element symbols and Arabic numerals specified in the standard, and "Y" is added at the head of the grades for cutting stainless steel and free cutting heat-resistant steel.

Generally, one Arabic numeral is used to represent the average carbon content (in thousands); when the average carbon content is ≥ 1.00%, two Arabic numerals are used to represent it; when the upper limit of carbon content is less than 0.10%, the "0" is used to represent the carbon content; when the upper limit of carbon content is less than 0.03%, and more than 0.01% (ultra-low carbon), the "03" is used to represent the carbon content; when the upper limit of carbon content is less than 0.01%, the "01" is used to represent the carbon content Quantity. When there is no lower limit for carbon content, Arabic numerals are used to indicate the upper limit of carbon content.
 
The expression method of alloy element content is the same as that of alloy structural steel. For example: for stainless steel with an average carbon content of 0.20% and chromium content of 13%, its trademark is "2Cr13"; for chromium nickel stainless steel with an upper limit of 0.08%, an average chromium content of 18%, and a nickel content of 9%, its trademark is "0Cr18Ni9"; for sulfur free cutting chromium stainless steel with an upper limit of 0.12% and an average chromium content of 17%, its trademark is "y1cr17"; for carbon content of 1 For high carbon chromium stainless steel with 17% chromium content, its trademark is "11cr7"; for ultra-low carbon stainless steel with upper limit of carbon content of 0.03%, average chromium content of 19%, and nickel content of 10%, its trademark is "03cr19ni10"; for ultra-low carbon stainless steel with upper limit of carbon content of 0.01%, average chromium content of 19%, and nickel content of 11%, its trademark is "01cr19ni11".

The current domestic standard of stainless heat-resistant steel is revised according to JIS standard, but the representation method of stainless heat-resistant steel brand is different from that of Japan and other countries. We use alloy elements and average C content to express, while Japan uses letters and Arabic numerals to express purpose. For example, stainless steel brands SUS202, SUS316, SUS430, S-STEEL, u-use, s-stainless steel. For example, heat-resistant steel grades suh309, suh330, suh660 and h-heatresistins. Different numbers in the brand indicate different types of stainless and heat-resistant steel. Japan refers to various products of stainless and heat-resistant steel, with corresponding letters added after the brand number, such as stainless steel rod sus-b, hot-rolled stainless steel plate sus-hp, heat-resistant steel rod suhb and heat-resistant steel plate suhp. In Britain, the United States and other western countries, the representation method of stainless and heat-resistant steel brand is basically the same as that of Japan, mainly in Arabic numerals, and the numbers expressed are the same, that is, the brand is the same. 10. Representation method of welding steel brand
Welding steel includes carbon steel for welding, alloy steel for welding, stainless steel for welding, etc. the designation is indicated by adding the symbol "H" to the head of all kinds of welding steel. For example: "H08", "h08mn2si", "h1cr18ni9".

High quality welding steel with the symbol "a" at the end of the brand. For example: "H08A", "08mn2sia".
 
 
 
11. Representation method of silicon steel brand for electrical engineering
The steel grade consists of numbers, letters and numbers.
The letter symbols of non oriented and oriented silicon steel are "W" and "Q", respectively
The thickness is placed at the front, the letter symbol is placed in the middle, and the iron loss value is placed at the back, for example, 30q113. In oriented silicon steel, the letter symbols "g" and "Q" with high magnetic induction are put together, such as 30qg113
The number after the letter indicates 100 times the iron loss value (w / kg).
If the letter "g" is used, it means tested at high frequency; if "g" is not used, it means tested at 50 cycles.
 
30q113 indicates that the maximum iron loss per unit weight of cold-rolled oriented silicon steel products for electrical purposes at 50 Hz is 1.13w/kg.
The representation method of cold rolled silicon steel is consistent with Japanese standard (jisc2552-86), but the letter symbol is different. For example, the brand of oriented silicon steel is 27q140, the corresponding JIS brand is 27g140, and the corresponding JIS brand is 30p110 (G: for common materials, P: for high orientation). The grade of non oriented silicon steel is 35w250, and the corresponding JIS grade is 35a250.
